CHARLOTT PORTER-NOLAN

Fine Art Student at Kingston School of Art

About

My work largely contemplates issues surrounding photography; exploring the inherent distance between artwork and viewer, and questioning whether the process the image has been through makes it more intimate and tangible. In addition to this, a key issue is ‘punctum’: the moment when the viewer is touched by an image, and when does this occur? The artwork itself doesn’t exist exclusively, it can outstretch its physical edges; as it is a cohesive product of the artist’s state of mind, the physical space around it and the experience it has had as a material object.
